Massage is Nice.  Therapy is Better.  Get Better with Us!

A style of stretching techniques for the purpose of maximizing movement and reducing decreased ROM and its resulting pain. PNF stretching can be fairly intense and is both active and passive, occasionally requiring input from the recipient. This modality is beneficial for everyone in our repetitive modern world for reducing Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and Repetitive Motion Injuries (RMI). This treatment involves little to no pressure and is focused on stretching.

When pregnant, the female body requires a significantly different method of massage. While other modalities may be included, PNM is geared toward the safety, health, and well-being of the mother and child. Most often this includes the guest lying on her side while on the massage table, versus being on her back or stomach to receive therapy. Certain Acupressure Points (APs) noted as dangerous to pregnancy are specifically avoided. This treatment involves very light to deeper medium pressure.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Prenatal Massage (PNM)

Aromatherapy Massage (ATM)

This style of Alternative Medicine originates from the notion that the Central Nervous System (CNS) and the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) maintain their own method of respiration, or pumping, of the CSF through the CNS. It is believed the imbalance or asymmetry of the system can result in negative effects on the whole body, from chronic migraine headaches to sleeplessness and anxiety. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is the manual application of pressure to aid in restoring rhythm, flow, and volume to the flow of Cerebrospinal Fluid within the Central Nervous System. This treatment is very light, often no requiring no more pressure than five grams - the weight of a nickel.

Easily the most relaxing massage one can receive, especially when combined with Aromatherapy. Utilizing direct application of warmed Volcanic stone or River stone to the body in conjunction with soothing Swedish Massage techniques, HSM will leave you in a state of absolute relaxation and stress free. This treatment involves light to medium pressure.

The Lymphatic System of the body creates cells and structures to clean the body and fight disease and sickness. MLD helps to flush the Lymphatic system and is applied by mirroring the normal lymphatic flow of the body. MLD is incredibly useful before and after surgery, for conditions such as Edema, some Autoimmune Disorders, and for those looking to boost their immune system. This treatment involves very light to light pressure.

The use of quality essential oils infused directly into our massage cream or oil. Different scents create different effects, both mentally and physically, For example, while Lavender at its base is very relaxing, when combined with citrus scents it can be energizing. Certain scents can stimulate or relax the skin or muscles on which they are applied. Our selection of Aromatherapy oils is vast and the options are nearly endless! Let us find the right one for you. And don't forget, we never charge for Aromatherapy.

RFX is a style of Massage Therapy that follows the understanding of every organ, gland, and tissue in the body being "reflected" or mirrored in the Feet, Hands, or Face. Attested to by thousands and as old as Chinese Medicine itself, RFX work of the feet or hands can resolve stress, tension, or pain in the rest of the body. True RFX, however, is not often as relaxing as pop culture or the media implies. This treatment involves medium to very deep pressure and can be uncomfortable.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)

Orthopedic Massage Therapy (OPM)

Hot Stone Massage (HSM)

SMT is highly specific to the individual and their needs - whether a professional athlete or suffering yard work aches, much information is needed on the end of the Massage Therapist to customize this style. SMT includes, but is not limited to: stretching, Range of Motion (ROM), TPT, MFR, and training recommendations. This treatment involves light to deep pressure and techniques.

Nearly every tissue and organ in your body is wrapped by and/or permeated with Fascia, like a soft tissue skeleton supporting and facilitating your every action. MFR softens and lengthens the Fascia and corresponding tissues, increasing Range of Motion (ROM) while reducing local stress and pain. This treatment involves light to medium pressure, and may incorporate some TPT.

AdeptMT is Always Advancing

The modern standard modality of Massage Therapy. Established by Pehr Henrik Ling in the early 1800s and also known as Swedish Gymnastics, This style of massage incorporates Range of Motion (ROM) exercise and the five basic components of massage therapy that most other types extrapolate from: Effleurage, Petrissage, Friction, Vibration, and Tapotement. This treatment involves light to medium pressure and relaxing techniques that improve circulation and immunity.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Offered locally and by appointment at your business, event, or gala. Using a top quality Massage Chair, you can receive Massage Therapy to the neck, back, shoulders, upper hips and arms and hands. While the average Chair Massage is five to ten minutes in length, they can be extended for upwards of 30 minutes. Useful for employees, friends, and family, or a quick stop by AdeptMT.

When pain - chronic or acute - is unable to be addressed by receiving hands-on therapy to the local site, Trigger Point Therapy may be performed. Trigger Points (TPs) are essentially knots in the Fascia of the Body, wherein a problem here results in pain there. Causing "Referral Pain," TPT can be an incredibly useful tool for chronic cases. This treatment involves light to exceptionally deep pressure and can cause momentary discomfort.

Essentially a combination of multiple modalities for the purpose of reducing aches, pain, stress and increasing mobility, Orthopedic Massage Therapy is our most widely practiced method of Therapeutic Massage.. From Surgical Rehabilitation to Medical Needs, Chronic Pain to "Slept Wrong Neck," desk workers and joint issues, OPM focuses on very specific Musculoskeletal and Fascial needs for the improvement of quality of life. Often including multiple recommendations and frequent returns for management and prevention of injury. This treatment involves very light to exceptionally deep pressure, Range of Motion (ROM) techniques, and a wide variety of modalities.

A technique often used with more pressure or depth, NMT is useful in reducing deep strain in specific muscles, as well as addressing Trigger Points and Tender Points. As the name implies, an effort to ease the tension of the muscles on the nerves helps eliminate nerve referral pain and patterns of numbness. One of our most commonly used styles here at AdeptMT, we have found NMT to be a valid starting point for most of our guests. This treatment involves medium to deep pressure and may cause "Good Pain."

Modalities are Different Styles or Methods of Massage Therapy. Ranging from Soothing and Relaxing to Deep and Profound. Some are Physical While Others are Energetic.

Here at AdeptMT, we Pride Ourselves on Understanding Multiple Different Methods, When they are Indicated, and How to Apply Them Efficiently.

The Range of Motion (ROM) of a muscle and its joint can be inhibited and reinforce the Pain/Spasm cycle, and PRT is a mostly passive method of receiving treatment with often incredible results. This style is the inverse of stretching - instead, tissues are compressed and manipulated to return the muscles effecting a joint to their regular state. Similar to the Strain/Counterstrain Method. This treatment involves some light to deep medium pressure.
